Welcome From Our President

A warm and heartfelt “Hello” as we enter the Junior League of Evanston-North Shore’s 102nd year of service!

I am deeply grateful and honored to serve as President during the 2025-26 League Year to lead our extraordinary members and collaborate with our Leadership Boards.

The Junior League of Evanston-North Shore (JLE-NS) is much more than a nonprofit organization; it’s a vibrant community that unites our members to create meaningful impact while building lasting bonds that make us stronger together.

Since joining JLE-NS in 2007, I’ve been on an incredible journey connecting with a diverse group of women who I never would have met without our League. These friendships have provided support, inspiration, and a shared purpose, enriching my life in numerous ways.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to my fellow League members: you’ve been my mentors, my advisors, and have become true friends. Your volunteer spirit, dedication, and camaraderie fuel our mission of:

Advancing women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

It is this collective effort that makes our League truly exceptional.

As we begin this new League Year, I look forward to leading our efforts to amplify our community impact, from serving our neighbors through our Thrift House store in Evanston, to providing grants to local nonprofit organizations, to awarding scholarships to local high school seniors and college students, and more. We remain committed to making a difference in our community.

This year, my goals for our League are to grow our membership, offer well-rounded and meaningful volunteer opportunities, develop new partnerships with local nonprofits, and, most importantly, enjoy our time together.

Thank you to our members and their families, donors, and community partners for your ongoing support!

I am truly delighted to serve as President of our outstanding organization. Together, with the contributions and energy of our members, we will continue to empower women, build lasting partnerships, and make an even greater impact in our community.

With gratitude and excitement,

Karen Burchell

President, 2025-26
