We are the Junior League of Evanston-North Shore

The Junior League of Evanston-North Shore (JLE-NS) is an organization of women whose mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

Each year, League members commit many volunteer hours to improving our community. In particular, the focus of our organization is on Advancing Employment and Supporting Families for those in need across Chicago’s North Suburbs.

Founded in 1924 as the Junior League of Evanston, JLE-NS now has approximately 200 Active and Sustaining members. We welcome all women regardless of age, race, religion, ethnic or national origin who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism.

JLE-NS Leadership

JLE-NS Leadership is made up of two leadership teams, a Policy Board which helps set the strategic direction of the League and a Management Board, which, comprised of committee chairs, oversees the operating issues. Numerous committees then plan and execute specific initiatives. These committees focus on a variety of areas, from community-facing projects and fundraisers to internal operations and membership.
