Done In A Day
Our Done in a Day committee organizes service projects throughout the year targeted at helping people in the community in either just one day or by addressing a short term need. This allows members to provide meaningful services in an impactful way. Some of our past projects include:
Make a Difference Day:
In collaboration with the Volunteer Center of Metro Chicago, we collected donated items to distribute throughout the community to those in need.

Evanston Grows:
Junior League of Evanston-North Shore members volunteered to benefit 2025 Community Grant recipient Evanston Grows by helping at Ward Farm to prepare the gardens for winter and labeling, packaging, and weighing produce to be distributed to community partners.

Connections for the Homeless:
JLE-NS members volunteered as a group and were a part of nearly 100 volunteers who helped distribute snow boots, winter coats and other cold weather gear to nearly 600 people in need in our community during the Winter Warmth event hosted by Connections for the Homeless.

Purses with a Purpose:
We collected new and gently used handbags which we filled with toiletry items. These purses were then donated to local women’s shelters to assist domestic violence survivors and others in need.
