Done In A Day
Our Done in a Day committee organizes service projects throughout the year targeted at helping people in the community in either just one day or by addressing a short term need. This allows members to provide meaningful services in an impactful way. Some of our past projects include:
Arden Shore Child & Family Services:
We partnered with Arden Shore Child & Family Services to landscape and beautify the outdoor areas of their campus in Waukegan. Our members planned, purchased, and planted a tree, bushes, plants, and flowers.
Arden Shore rebuilds children’s lives in a caring community and is a 2025 JLE-NS grant recipient.

Make a Difference Day:
Evanston Grows:
Our members volunteered to help Evanston Grows by prepping the gardens at Ward Farm in Evanston for the winter and we also bagged, weighed, and labeled produce for distribution.
The 2025 grant we awarded to Evanston Grows has greatly benefited Ward Farm, the largest of their 5 farm partnerships which yields around 7,000 pounds of produce per year for the Evanston community.

Hygiene Kits for Chute Middle School in Evanston/Skokie School District 65:
Our members assembled 200 hygiene kits filled with deodorant, lotion, brushes, combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, tissues, socks, pads, and uplifting handwritten notes to help girls and boys at Chute Middle School in Evanston feel confident and supported by having the supplies they need to attend school with dignity and self-assurance. Members then delivered the kits to the School Nurse at Chute Middle School in Evanston/Skokie School District 65.
